About MiniHEE and MiniMIN:

I got a few questions about them so I figured that maybe I should make a post to explain about them. ^_^

Dolls and Suju are my interests and I am so happy to be able to combine them!

MiniMIN

Min was originally a girl doll…(hurhur no surprise right?) 

I loved Oasisdoll Yaoyue the moment I saw her. I loved her oriental look! But somehow something just told me that I can make a Sungmin out of her. :/

Because I have already done several doll-modifications in the past, I was pretty confident of the mod. So I did a mock up before buying the doll using Sungmin’s U photo. 

Because I do reductive modifications (meaning to take away rather than add on to the doll), I have to plan properly and make sure that the features that I want has to be smaller than that of the original sculpt’s features.

I didn’t want a 100% realistic doll as that would be FREAKING CREEPY. 

Anyway, after I am satisfied and feel pretty confident that I won’t exactly screw the doll up, I placed an order for Yaoyue and bought another boy body for Min.

So I just switched the head over and sold the girl body.

After that, the real work begins. Using fine sand paper, I sanded the doll’s face to re-shape the face, lips, eyes and nose, slowly, removing the resin (the material that the dolls are made of). It took about a day to get the features I am happy with. I’m pretty proud of MiniMin’s “M” shaped lips which is my favourite feature on (real) Sungmin.

After that, I “painted” the head using grounded pastel powder (like how you put on blusher/eyeshadow), colour pencils(to add details like lashes and brows) and gloss (so he has shiny lips!). 

And…He’s done~

Well of course, I had to buy wigs, clothes and shoes for him… which costed another bomb T_T. And spend some more time cutting his wigs so that they are more similar to his hair… T_T Aren’t I crazy to put so much time, effort and money into him?!

But its all worth it… though he will never know the story behind… but this moment is worth everything.

MiniHEE

It took only one month… I have always respected Heechul and have always known of the doll that looks like Heechul sold by Ninodoll.

The original sculpt name is Sukryu. Anyway, it was so obvious that its modelled after Heechul unlike in MiniMIN’s case. 

So after SS3 SG I was so filled with Heechul love that I decided I wanted a Heechul doll. It would be fun to dress him up anyway. So I got on the doll forum and impulse- bought the only Sukryu head someone was putting up for sale.

And it arrived 2 weeks later (which was a few days ago). As you can see from the official sales photos of the doll, his face is pretty lop-sided, so I had to modify the head again. I reduced the nose and reshaped the face alittle as well. Didn’t have to do much as it already looked so much like Heenim. 

And so I painted him too and that’s how he looked like now~

Yep~ My dolls are how I express myself and my love for things/people so I am pretty adamant about customizing them myself. 

Sorry, long story~ But I hope it explains your questions about if I made them or not.

I didn’t exactly make the dolls but I customized them.
